How to choose the right packaging solution?

The key to an efficient supply chain or warehousing is the various small bits and pieces which are often ignored. One such task is packaging, which is a lot more intricate than most people make it out to be. A logistics partner will take care of shipping your cargo but selecting which packaging solution to use is entirely up to you. Here at Uniworld Logistics we don’t just move your package from point A to B, we provide aid for your packaging, documentation, transportation, and if needed we help with warehousing too.

It is not just a box.

Imagine a custom-tailored box, made specifically for your product to have a snug fit. Now, imagine a standard cardboard box that has stuff thrown inside along with some Styrofoam beans. Which do you think protects your cargo more? If you think it is the first one, let me explain how Uniworld Logistics gets it done. There is no one-size fits all box that can be multipurposed. Hence, we take a reasonable amount of time to select the right packaging solution. Thanks to our partner GWP-solutions we have a vast list of options to choose from, or we could work on something entirely new from scratch too.

The three pillars of good packaging

At Uniworld, we provide solutions for every scenario possible, from cost-efficient but durable cardboard boxes to heavy-duty wooden boxes. To make the selection process easier, let us break the packaging solutions into three key segments- the pallet, the box, and protective accessories. The pallets hold the stress of the boxes and the impact from the forklifts. Hence, they are considered to be the base of any packaging. With plastic, pinewood, plywood, and corrugated pallets, you always have an option to choose irrespective of your shipment, and shipping budget. Now moving on to the boxes- the protagonist of the packaging show, you can have the corrugated box which has high graphic design and printing capabilities, or you can choose to have a rigid sturdy wooden box, or the crowd favourite the nail-less folding box. The folding box is exactly what it makes you think it is, a box with no nails that is easy to disassemble and easier to reassemble. Now that the outer section is complete let’s take a look at the protective accessories that might come in handy. Flute board, pet straps, angle boards, stretch films, foam, VCI bags, aluminium foil bags whatever your need is we got it. Sometimes you might need a corrosion resistant bag, or sometimes multiple bags in a box with a layer of foam to protect your cargo from damage during the journey. Hence, it is always important to decide on your packaging as much as you consider the remaining factors of the shipment. Now that you know why a packaging solution isn’t just a box, let me share a little about us.
